I, like everyone else in the world woke to the news that Chris Cornell passed away today.  What a shock. what a voice lost.  In the aughts I think his voice fell out of fashion as emo and nu metal took over the radio waves, but his voice transcended trendy pop music.  He had a 4 octave range but my favorite was when he sat in his low to mid range.  The Superunknown record was such a player in my musical development so it only made sense to sit down at the piano and record a live one take of one of my favorite Soundgarden songs. Fell On Black Days.  But there are so many good songs on that record and I think time will tell of how classic and important that record was and still is. It sits atop the 90s rock record in my opinion with only a handful of others wrestling for top dog status. I hope you like the cover. Its very chill and just a tribute to such a legendary voice both on stage and behind the scenes as he helped foster the Seattle sound and scene that set the world free in the 90s.
